STE(A)M-POWER: Institutionalization of Inclusive University Innovation Infrastructures
STE(A)M-POWER strengthens applied engineering innovation capacity by embedding entrepreneurship and IP training, industry challenges, rapid prototyping, deep-tech validation, and KIC-aligned research-to-market pathways under Topic 1.
Professor, School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade Contact
Selected under Topic 1: EIT-HEI-2025-STEM-CAPACITY-BUILDING, STE(A)M-POWER supports engineering-focused Higher Education Institutions in becoming stronger engines of regional and European innovation. The project focuses on applied engineering domains that are central to the green and digital transitions, including power electronics, embedded systems, smart sensing, AI-enabled systems, robotics, automation, electrification, advanced manufacturing, and sustainable production.
At the centre of STE(A)M-POWER is a repeatable “learn–design–validate–scale” pathway. The project will introduce a shared HEI Innovation Operating Model and Innovation Playbook, helping participating institutions define clearer roles, decision gates, IP procedures, validation steps, and industry collaboration processes. This is designed to make research-to-market activity less dependent on informal networks and more embedded in faculty-level operations.
The project will train students, researchers, academic staff, and non-academic staff through modular entrepreneurship, innovation, IP, and applied engineering learning pathways. It will also activate industry challenges through a digital platform, form Inclusive Execution Units around real technical problems, and support promising teams through a Deep-Tech Validation Track and Rapid Prototyping Lab network. By aligning with 28DIGITAL and EIT Manufacturing, STE(A)M-POWER aims to strengthen Europe’s deep-tech talent pipeline and help applied engineering research move more predictably toward prototypes, spin-offs, industry transfer, and market-facing innovation.
