BOOST4STEM
Fostering STEM Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystems in Higher Education
BOOST4STEM strengthens STEM innovation capacity by embedding entrepreneurship, IP management, research-to-market pathways, and institutional governance reforms under Topic 1.
Selected under Topic 1: EIT-HEI-2025-STEM-CAPACITY-BUILDING, BOOST4STEM supports Higher Education Institutions in making entrepreneurship, innovation, and IP management a more systematic part of STEM education and research. The project responds to structural gaps identified through HEInnovate, including uneven governance mechanisms, fragmented research-to-market support, and limited integration of entrepreneurship into STEM curricula.
BOOST4STEM will co-create and embed a modular STEM Entrepreneurship & IP course into formal learning pathways across participating institutions. The course will help students, researchers, and staff develop competences in innovation literacy, market validation, intellectual property, commercialisation, and venture development.
The project will also establish a structured research-to-market pipeline, including scouting, mentoring, validation, IP clinics, and incorporation support for start-up teams. Governance reforms, KPI dashboards, and institutional embedding agreements will help ensure that these activities continue beyond the project lifetime. By linking STEM education, technology transfer, business mentoring, and EIT ecosystem cooperation, BOOST4STEM aims to strengthen regional innovation ecosystems and support Europe’s competitiveness in advanced manufacturing and sustainable urban mobility.
