CODEUNITED
COnnecting & DEvelopment of UNiversity InnovaTion Ecosystems through eDucation
CODEUNITED strengthens university-oriented innovation ecosystems by embedding interdisciplinary entrepreneurship education across five European HEIs. Through ecosystem mapping, inclusive training, and collaborative startup support, the project fosters long-term institutional transformation and more connected, student-centered entrepreneurial environments.
Today, the university innovation ecosystem features many different actors and organizations involved in supporting entrepreneurship across and beyond the campus environment. However, there is also a lack of clarity and collaboration amongst the different ecosystem players leading to replication, internal competition and struggles, and perhaps more importantly, a disconnect from the student and educational activities on campus.
CODEUNITED brings together partners from across Europe representing various disciplinary backgrounds (business, design, technology), and at different stages in the development of their own university-driven entrepreneurial ecosystems, to help learn, develop, and share best practices in adopting an education driven approach towards ecosystems. We see the role of entrepreneurial education, as a crucial enabler in 1) bringing these different ecosystem actors together in a meaningful manner and 2) utilizing and developing new educational offerings across all levels (bachelors, masters, doctoral) to help bridge the gap between students and the university-oriented ecosystems. The goal is to develop a more holistic, inclusive approach towards entrepreneurship education across partner campuses and universities.
The goal is to adopt a resourceful approach towards the development of the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem by first mapping out existing activities and key ecosystem players, establishing new meaningful collaborations across partner universities and ecosystems, and develop new educational offerings that provide a more embedded, and direct pathway for students to engage with real-life entrepreneurial activities and projects.
