ECIU E-CAMPUS strengthens student venture creation across the ECIU University alliance by turning Challenge-Based Learning into a structured, KIC-aligned pathway from classroom solutions to incubation readiness under Topic 2.
Selected under Topic 2: EIT-HEI-2025-BUILDING-SYNERGIES, ECIU E-CAMPUS supports the ECIU University alliance in converting its strong Challenge-Based Learning model into a more systematic innovation and venture creation pipeline. The project addresses a common gap in higher education innovation: students generate promising solutions in challenge-based courses, but many of these ideas do not progress into validation, incubation, or market-facing development.
ECIU E-CAMPUS introduces a two-phase pathway. The Trailfinder phase embeds business validation and innovation-readiness elements into existing challenge-based and project-based courses, while also offering dedicated open challenge tracks. This allows students to test the market, stakeholder, sustainability, and implementation potential of their ideas early in the learning process.
High-potential teams can then progress into the Trailblazer phase, an internationally coordinated pre-incubation programme. Teams work through structured modules, coaching, micro-credentials, AI-supported validation workflows, and a shared Venture Readiness Tracker. The process culminates in the ECIU Venture Gateway, where teams connect with incubators, investors, industry actors, and relevant EIT KIC pathways. By linking education, research, business validation, and ecosystem access, ECIU E-CAMPUS aims to create a durable alliance-wide model for “CBL-to-Venture” progression.
