Eco-GENIUM
Eco-driven Digital & Manufacturing Innovation and Entrepreneurship for INGENIUM Alliance
Eco-GENIUM strengthens innovation capacity across the INGENIUM Alliance by embedding Knowledge Triangle governance, Local Innovation Labs, regional ecosystem integration, and EIT KIC-aligned entrepreneurship pathways under Topic 2.
Selected under Topic 2: EIT-HEI-2025-BUILDING-SYNERGIES, Eco-GENIUM supports the INGENIUM European University Alliance in embedding innovation and entrepreneurship as permanent institutional functions. The project focuses on strengthening participating Higher Education Institutions through a structured model that connects governance reform, entrepreneurship training, regional ecosystem engagement, and venture support.
Eco-GENIUM uses a pioneer–novice convergence model, allowing more experienced innovation institutions to transfer tested approaches to partners that are still building their internal innovation systems. This model is designed to reduce disparities in innovation capacity across European regions, including RIS and widening contexts, while ensuring that local adaptation remains central.
The project will establish Innovation and Knowledge Triangle Boards, Local Innovation Labs, and Ecosystem Integration Labs to connect universities more systematically with businesses, SMEs, public authorities, clusters, innovation intermediaries, and EIT KICs. Through training, mentoring, scouting, validation, start-up support, and EIT-linked acceleration pathways, Eco-GENIUM aims to create a durable model for turning institutional reform into measurable innovation outcomes in manufacturing, raw materials, and digital technologies.
