STEM2SCALE strengthens connectivity-driven STEM innovation capacity by embedding entrepreneurship, IP management, Light-TTO support, digital training, venture acceleration, and investor pathways under Topic 1.
Selected under Topic 1: EIT-HEI-2025-STEM-CAPACITY-BUILDING, STEM2SCALE supports Higher Education Institutions in turning STEM knowledge in connectivity fields into stronger innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional impact. The project focuses on Connectivity-Enabled Digital Systems, including AI-driven services, IoT applications, cybersecurity, secure digital infrastructures, and smart mobility or Industry 4.0 applications.
At the centre of STEM2SCALE is a dual-layer capacity-building model. The first layer provides broad innovation, entrepreneurship, and IP literacy for STEM students, academic staff, and non-academic staff through the STEM2CONNECT MOOC, blended workshops, gamified learning paths, and EntreComp-aligned modules. The second layer concentrates more advanced venture and research-to-market support on connectivity-driven digital systems, helping promising teams move from ideas and research outputs toward validated prototypes, start-ups, investment readiness, and market-facing partnerships.
The project also uses a Pioneer–Novice model to transfer proven innovation capacity from more experienced partners to institutions with less developed support structures. This includes student innovation support functions, Light-TTO procedures, regional ecosystem mapping, peer learning events, and dedicated support for non-EU and underrepresented regions. Through alignment with 28DIGITAL, EIT Manufacturing, and EIT Urban Mobility, STEM2SCALE connects higher education transformation with European priorities in digital skills, connected mobility, smart production, AI, IoT, cybersecurity, and technology-based venture creation.
