STEMMING
STEMMING Green Innovation – Agentic AI and Quantum-Secure STEM Talent for Smart Solar Europe
STEMMING strengthens green digital STEM innovation capacity by embedding agentic AI learning support, smart solar digital twins, quantum-secure energy skills, mini-credentials, venture building, and KIC-aligned entrepreneurship pathways under Topic 1.
Selected under Topic 1: EIT-HEI-2025-STEM-CAPACITY-BUILDING, STEMMING supports Higher Education Institutions in preparing STEM learners and staff for Europe’s green, digital, and deep-tech transitions. The project focuses on strategic domains where technical excellence, entrepreneurship, and trust are increasingly inseparable: smart solar energy, AI-enabled engineering, secure energy data infrastructures, and quantum-secure readiness.
At the centre of STEMMING is a Green Digital STEM Entrepreneurship Framework. This framework connects innovation, entrepreneurship, IP literacy, digital skills, sustainability competences, and deep-tech learning into stackable mini-credentials that can be embedded into existing STEM teaching and staff development. Learners will build practical competences in AI for STEM workflows, AI-enabled Smart PV and energy digitalisation, and Quantum Trust & Security for critical energy data pipelines.
The project also deploys two flagship infrastructures. The Green STEM Educational Agent Lab will provide privacy-preserving AI tutors, mentoring agents, venture coaching, and human-supervised support workflows. The Solar and Smart Energy Digital Twin Studios will give students and teams access to realistic smart energy, PV, photonics, AI, and quantum-secure scenarios for challenge-based learning, prototyping, and venture validation.
By combining digital learning, industry challenges, internships, venture building, KTO/TTO support, and standards-to-skills translation, STEMMING aims to help HEIs move beyond isolated courses and create durable institutional capacity for green deep-tech entrepreneurship. Through formal alignment with EIT Climate-KIC and 28DIGITAL, the project connects smart energy, trustworthy AI, digital skills, cybersecurity, climate innovation, and entrepreneurship support into a shared pathway for European STEM talent.
