THRIVE
Transforming healthcare research into validated solutions through Alliance-KIC Cooperation
THRIVE strengthens EduCare 5.0’s alliance-level healthcare innovation capacity by embedding simulation-based validation infrastructure, healthcare entrepreneurship training, venture support, and operational EIT Health and 28DIGITAL cooperation under Topic 2.
Selected under Topic 2: EIT-HEI-2025-BUILDING-SYNERGIES, THRIVE supports the EduCare 5.0 European University Alliance in turning healthcare research into validated, market-ready solutions. The project responds to a specific weakness in healthcare innovation: promising digital health, AI, medical device, and care pathway innovations often fail not because the technology is irrelevant, but because clinical feasibility, economic viability, regulatory compliance, and implementation readiness are tested too late.
At the centre of THRIVE is a simulation-based validation pipeline. Instead of relying primarily on long and expensive physical pilots, the project develops five connected validation structures covering clinical feasibility, multi-country health economics, medical device and AI regulatory intelligence, implementation readiness, and gender-equity venture support. This gives health innovation teams a more structured way to assess whether their solutions are ready for real healthcare systems, reimbursement pathways, regulatory scrutiny, and clinical adoption.
THRIVE also builds healthcare-specific entrepreneurship capacity across the alliance through a three-level training model with micro-credentials, bootcamps, fellowships, and certified trainers. Supported ventures will move through a four-stage pathway from scouting and incubation to validation and KIC referral. Through operational cooperation with EIT Health and 28DIGITAL, the project connects healthcare validation, health data, AI compliance, digital entrepreneurship, and market access into a practical alliance-level model for health research-to-market translation.
