On 18 and 19 May, the EIT HEI Initiative project CloudEARTHi will hold its first annual conference at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Eisenstadt, Austria.
The CloudEARTH conference connects academics with businesses, public bodies and non-governmental organisations in order to explore how environmental sciences, sustainability, circular economy and the application of big data in business contexts can benefit society. This year’s theme will be ‘Academic education and its impact on entrepreneurship and sustainability’.
Call for contributions
Participants are invited to submit contributions that focus on current challenges related to sustainable entrepreneurship education. Submissions can be in the field of:
- sustainable society;
- circular economy;
- supporting innovation in sustainability;
- net-zero transition;
- green transition;
- blue growth;
- big data and artificial intelligence for sustainable development.
Abstract submissions should be made on the CLoudEARTHi website. The selected articles and contributions will be featured in an online publication.
The hybrid event is free to attend and allows for both online and in-person participation.
The conference is organised in cooperation with UiT The Arctic University of Norway, University of Edinburgh, University of Alicante, Technical University of Varna, and G-Force.

Submission of abstracts (up to 300 words): 15 March 2022
Decision on abstracts: 15 April 2022
Registration deadline: 5 May 2022
Final paper submission: 1 August 2022

CloudEARTHi is one of the pilot projects funded by the EIT HEI Initiative in 2021. The central vision of CloudEARTHi is to develop and build capacity for innovation across high education institutions, students and businesses in the area of big data, environmental science, sustainability and circular economy in order to benefit society.
