Pilot Call – March 2021

As part of the EIT’s HEI Initiative, in March 2021 the EIT announced a Pilot Call for Proposals, inviting higher education institutions to design activities that will improve their entrepreneurial and innovation capacity.

About the Pilot Call

The Pilot Call received a total of 64 applications from across Europe, including 319 HEIs and 429 non-HEIs from 36 European countries. The call funded 24 pilot projects to be implemented in 2021−2023. The total maximum budget per project is €1.2 million, broken down as follows: €400,000 for Phase 1 (July−December 2021) and €800,000 for Phase 2 (January 2022−July 2023). The pilot projects implemented in Phase 1 will incorporate evaluation, learning and improvements before entering Phase 2, and scaling up their activities. Upon successful completion of Phase 1, further funding will be released to projects to complete Phase 2.
